Zyprexa

Eli Lilly, introduced Zyprexa in 1996. Since introduction, it has been prescribed to more than 12 million people worldwide.

Zyprexa is a medication that is used to treat psychoses including schizophrenia and acute manic episodes associated with bipolar I disorder. Researchers, have determined that Zyprexa may increase a person's risk of developing diabetes and hyperglycemia. Researchers have also found evidence that Zyprexa may cause Pancreatitis.

The FDA has requested Eli Lilly to add warnings to Zyprexa, identifying the possibility of significant side effects including: Hyperglycemia, Diabetes, Ketoacidosis, Hyperglycemia Coma, Stroke, and Transient Ischemic Attack.
