John David Ameen was born February 4, 1969 in Pawtucket, Rhode Island.  After moving to South Florida in 1987, he attended the University of Miami . He graduated from the University of Miami with general university honors in 1991. John completed his law degree at the University of Miami in 1994.

While at law school John was a certified legal intern with the State Attorney's office where he tried numerous cases before receiving his law degree. John spent his first two years of practice representing insurance companies in personal injury and insurance contract dispute cases.

In 1998, John was the founding partner of a law firm that represented victims of personal injury and insurance disputes exclusively. In January 2007, John became a partner at the firm. The firm was renamed Paige, Trop & Ameen. 

Professionally, John is a member of the Florida Bar Association, the Broward County Bar Association and the Academy of Florida Trial Lawyers. John remains active in the community by donating his time to Big Brothers and Big Sisters of Broward County and to Broward Lawyer's Care. John has been matched with a "little brother" since 1999 and enjoys playing a part in the development of South Florida's future. Through Broward Lawyer's care, John volunteers legal services to needy individuals who could not otherwise afford representation.

Personally, John has been named the Best Attorney in Coral Springs by The Coral Springs Forum.
